TONY SMITH PRAISED BY UK HOME SECRETARY AND UK PRIME MINISTER FOR SERVICES TO UK GOVERNMENT

Tony Smith retired from public service on 19 March 2013 after over 40 years’ service with the UK Home Office. To mark the occasion, Tony was presented with several gifts at his retirement celebration by the UK Home Secretary, Theresa May, including a letter from the UK Prime Minister the Rt Hon DavidCameron.

Mr Cameron said “From leading the development of local immigration teams across London and South East, to ensuring the smooth running of the UK Border Agency’s London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Programme, I have no doubt that all you have achieved will serve as a fitting legacy to your long and distinguished career.”

Ms May said “Your commitment to our border security has been exemplary and your knowledge of experience have been not only invaluable to Border Force but has been recognised around the world.” Tony is now a private global consultant and Managing Director of Fortinus Ltd.
